As a former “bone” player, with a son and granddaughter who followed in my footsteps, this was a hoot. I’m glad no one got smacked in the head with the slides.

Love that post today! I’m another former band geek (clarinet player). We didn’t do anything that creative back in the dinosaur days. What kids won’t think of today!
My husband & I watched this. He played trombone and in high school and tuba in college. While we both enjoyed the show, we were disappointed that they did not play a note.
I’m thinking concussions, need for extensive dental work,….the list goes on. Thank heavens they are very coordinated! But can they play??
Wouldn’t it have been fun to watch their first practice!
My first year as a band director in the mountains of eastern Kentucky, I had a bone turn too soon. His slide was extended and the spit valve caught on the fluffy helmet of another band member. As he turned and pulled the slide in, the innocent trumpet (I know, is any trumpet ever innocent?) was whipped backward across the field and the slide slid off the trombone. The entire section became a massive traffic jam.
All I could do was cover my eyes and shake my head. I only lasted one year.
Ugh!! I was waiting for them to PLAY!! 😉
Awesome seeing created creativity only 20 miles from my home that I never knew existed. . . . kinda like reading my awesome friend’s recent New York Times bestselling book (Lisa Wingate’s _Before We Were Yours_)!

Wow! As a band parent I was concerned for the instruments. One good clunk and dent – and the bone is off to the repair shop! Good job, not easy to pull off.
