It was so nice for this video to feature my office at the 0:42 mark. An honor to be included in “The Most Beautiful Libraries in the World.”

I drooled through the entire video. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
p.s. the 0:42 mark; I’ve been there. Amazing!

Beautiful and powerful. I especially liked the photos of libraries with people in them.
I wonder what Johannes Gutenberg would say if he could see this. I say, “Thank you, Mr. Gutenberg!”

As a student working in a library I became so good at mending books they had me mend a Gutenberg Bible!

One of my earliest and most vivid memories is of the library at Troy Union Elementary School in Troy, MI. Looking back, it was tiny—a narrow room flanked by dark wooden shelves that reached (as I remember) to the ceiling. It was the most amazing room in what had been a multi-room country school. I loved going in there. I loved the mystery of it and the smell of the books. In the eyes of a young child, it held all the majesty of these great cathedral-like libraries. A massive addition was constructed between my second and third year at Troy Union It featured a sprawling “modern” library, sunken, like some vast carpeted pool of knowledge. I was equally in awe of it, but longed for the towering shelves and the quiet mystery of that little room. Bring me the books…

I’d love one of these! Reminds me of Beauty and the Beast with the beast finding the very best gift for someone who loves books. Thanks for sharing, Steve.

So beautiful! And the last frame about so many books, so little time. So true! Thank you.

Thanks for the library tour. April 2019 Reader’s Digest featured an excerpt, “THe Library: A Love Story” from the book The Library Book by Susan Orlean. Great tribute to visiting libraries as a child with her mother.

I couldn’t find the article you mentioned online, then realized I could just go to a library, lol!

Lovely… the Strahov monastery at 1:29 reminded me of the vast library at the Bible school I attended, Greek, Hebrew, Latin, English, it was fabulous and we spent a lot of time there researching for our papers.
I adore libraries… ours is (in our small town) no longer funded, it’s run by volunteers a few days a week… taxpayers say no to everything even the police department.
