I can just envision
putting this beneath the Christmas tree;
a gift of great precision,
the LEGO giftwrap factory.
Just see the joy on Christmas morn,
the glowing eyes of Little Man,
and in that pounding heart is born
the outline of a master plan
to help improve the quality
of house and home and yard,
all done with joyous jollity,
and it shouldn’t be so hard
to bend each block, diode, resistor
to giftwrapping of one’s little sister.

I can’t imagine the time and energy that went into creating something that is less efficient than just hand-wrapping a gift. I suppose the point of this project is more the patience and ingenuity required/expended and not the outcome.
To connect that back with writing, perhaps it means I should learn to value the effort of writing a novel, even if it never gets published.
