So the secret tip to Etch-A-Sketch
is the use of both your hands
which, for me, is quite a stretch
for my right tendon-bands
were severed very long ago
by a woodworking tool,
and never really did regrow
(a fate I found quite cruel!),
and now I must add to the list
of things I’ll never be
is ‘Etch-A-Sketch artist’…
boo hoo, oh, woe is me!
But really, mate, that is OK,
I didn’t want to anyway!
Yes, using that left hand! I can barely brush my teeth using my left hand.
I grew up in a family of 6, where I was the only right-handed person. I thought myself strange until I entered the rest of the world. That said, the irony is not lost on my that my family are all accomplished artists, and I well, draw a mean stick figure.
