Until today’s video, I never even thought about how rubber bands are made. Now we all know.

Kneading, rolling, and extrusion;
then heat, so rubber bands are made,
and then, to banish their illusion
of strength in mass, they face the blade
that cuts them individually
to do work for which they’re designed,
and it really seems to me
that this is how we are refined
by God, to make sure that we are fit
to live forever by His side;
individuality sees to it
that in the group we cannot hide,
but must let our souls stand alone
before the judgment of His throne.
