Since this is the week when those of us in the United State celebrate Thanksgiving, I thought I’d take a moment to say a few words of gratitude.
To Tamela and Bob
Tamela Hancock Murray and Bob Hostetler are two of the finest literary agents in the business. It is fun to work alongside you both. There is a reason you were both nominated for the Agent-of-the-Year award by ACFW this year. [Now, get back to work!]
To Thomas Umstattd, Jr.
Thank you for your work on our amazing podcast The Christian Publishing Show. There is nothing quite like it, and your talent makes it all the more unique.
To our clients
It would take a rather long time to go through each name (you can look at the list here). But I do want to thank each one of you for being part of our agency. You all amaze me. Collectively, you create almost seven million published words each year. It is a privilege to play a role in helping those words get out into the marketplace where they can change the world.
To our blog readers
Thank you for being faithful readers. I hope you glean a tidbit here and there that helps you along the writing and publishing journey. Someday I’d love to take all subscribers, online followers, and visitors and put them in one room. I suspect it might be a rather large room.
To all writers
Whether or not we get to serve as your literary agents, we support you in every way possible. Together we lift each other up to this high calling we have as communicators of the gospel. Thank you for the long hours, amazing ideas, and beautiful words.
To all editors and publishers
What you do for the Kingdom is rarely appreciated the way it should be. To work in the world of ideas and help make those ideas dynamic, attractive, and available is a true service. Few, this side of heaven, will ever know the impact of the books you work so hard to produce.
To the Enclave Publishing community
Thank you to our writers for their out-of-this-world stories. But mostly for your extraordinary support this past year. You all know what I mean. And to the readers! We all hope that these stories take you to vastly different places … but still find that the immense and creative God of all universes has been there before. (Visit enclavepublishing.com.)
To the Christian Writers Institute community
I’m so grateful for those who found The Christian Writers Institute and the courses prepared there. May they continue to give you the appropriate nudge toward excellence in your craft. A sincere thanks as well to those who use The Christian Writers Market Guide either in print, online, or in e-book form. I hope it will continue to be a go-to resource for years to come.
To my family
Thank you to my wife, Lisa, without whom I wouldn’t be able to do this job. To my three daughters, three sons-in-law, and grandson, I throw out slobbery kisses and manly hugs!
To my Lord and Savior
Without the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we would be a people without hope. At one time many of us lived without that hope (Ephesians 2:12). But by the grace of God I am with Christ, through Christ, and in Christ. Soli Deo Gloria.
Mark Moss
Very nice. Thank you, too Steve.
Deena Adams
Thank you and everyone at your agency for providing valuable training and resources for aspiring writers like me. May God continue to bless your efforts.
Shirlee Abbott
I thank you and your colleagues, Steve. Like Ruth in the Bible, I’ve gleaned more than a basket of tidbits! I’ve carried away solid building blocks for the foundation of my writing ministry, glorious artwork to adorn the walls of my imagination, and the music of laughter to fill my soul.
Tammy
Thanks back to you, Steve. The integrity, wisdom and encouragement you share with all of us is much appreciated. The “Laube Lobby Time” at Blue Ridge Christian Writers Conference is a great example of what you shower over all of us. Your humor and encouragement given in such a significant way during those late nights show how much you care about us. We are fortunate to have you, whether we get to have your agency represent us or not. Thanks, Steve.

Although not one of your clients, as an Indie Author I’m thankful for all the wonderful advice you’ve given me personally and in your blogs. You’ve been a great encouragement and source of valuable information. God bless you, your family, your clients, and your staff. Happy Thanksgiving. 🙂

Oh my goodness, this made me cry and I’m not sure why. Maybe because in a jaded, and often cruel world, there are still so many genuinely good and kind people. And you are one, Steve. Having met you at several events, I know this post isn’t just words, but you truly mean them.
Thank you.
Bryan Mitchell
Thank you as well!
Andrew Budek-Schmeisser
It’s hard to find well-suited phrases
to give the thanks that you are due;
and melody to sing the praises
I might compose, just for you.
You encourage so much aspiration,
and shine a light where none exists
to help us rise above our station,
to see God’s glory in the mists.
You speak from hard-earned sapience
leavened with the Lord’s compassion
to help us reach the excellence
that brings true life to passion.
You’ve made of me far more than
a better writer; I’m a better man.

Thank you, Steve for all you do. I love being a part of such an amazing group of people and agency. You’re hard work is noticed and appreciated.
Joyce Erfert
I especially thank all of you for your sense of humor. It is a spoonful of sugar on the days I get discouraged about this writing path I am on. And your wisdom is priceless.

Thank you for the beautiful tribute words…so needed in this day of self-serving! And thanks for this blog and the daily tidbits that come into our emails. Thankful to you and your agency!
Michelle Shocklee
Thank you, Steve, for creating an agency where God is honored. Thank you, Bob, for all your work on my behalf. I’m very thankful to be represented by the Steve Laube Agency! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Connie Huntington
I came late to the game, choosing to write only after I retired. Most days I am excited and there’s not enough hours in the day to get all my words on paper. Some days I’m not so excited. But, five mornings a week the first thing I do is check my e-mail for your daily tidbits. They always lift me up and encourage me to go forward. The Word shines through you. Thank you for your unfaltering Christian stance.

It was a pleasure to get to thank you in person at the ACFW meeting, but I want to say once more what a huge difference your blog has made in my writing career. It has truly blessed me. I am so thankful that you and your crew continue to share so much with all of us.
Carolyn Curtis
You are an amazing agent, Steve — and entrepreneur! I’m grateful to you and your team, and I’m pleased to be one of your authors.
Tamela Hancock Murray
I’m honored to be here and so grateful for you, Steve!
I just now saw this since I was working! Ha! 🙂
Loretta Eidson

claire o'sullivan
This is why all of this fantastic agency rocks. I keep praying for your strength!
Martha Whiteman Rogers
Thank you for such a beautiful post. So often we forget to stop and thank those who mean so much to our lives. I am blessed to a part of your agency. Without Tamela and her belief in me as writer, I wouldn’t be where I am today in my writing. This blog and the posts from members of the agency have been a blessing of great information. Thanks to all of you for your faithfulness in providing these posts every week.
Lori Ann Hatcher
Thank you for allowing me to be part of the Laube family. I am honored to be represented by your agency and to partner with you to shine the light of Jesus Christ into the world. Happy THanksgiving!

Steve thank you for your kindness through my recent rejection. If you ask God to create his New Beginning within you. God will. Once you know that God’s New Beginning is for real. Should you change your mind about representing, God’s New Beginning Will Get Us Through the Storm, please let me know. If a rejection could ever be kind – yours was.
Merry Christmas to you all!
