Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating it.
Our blog will pause until Monday the 27th. Enjoy your weekend!
“Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
For he satisfies the longing soul,
and the hungry soul he fills with good things.”
(Psalm 107:8-9, ESV)
Andrew Budek-Schmeisser
Whoever said that irony’s delicious?
‘Enjoy a break!’, the good man said,
a gentle wish of grace,
but poor Barb fell unto her head,
and broke bones in her face.
She was sick the weekend long,
tried to get to well too fast,
was still weak, thought she was strong,
and whammo!, mate, right out she passed
and hit some things on the way down
to unyielding concrete floor,
which led to hospital and gown,
and testing that we might be sure
that pain would soon go away,
but her feast this day’s turkey puree.

Andrew! hahahaha!!
Wait. That was a joke poem, right?
Andrew Budek-Schmeisser
Pam, actually, it’s not a joke. It happened yesterday. She’s on the mend, thank God!

Many thanks, Pam. She’s hurting, but did enjoy the sonnet.

Dear Mr. Laube,
I don’t think that I’m very good at this in writing to someone such as yourself in holding such a high standard in your publishing expertise. Therefore, in expressing my concerns and desires in my children stories I feel very inadequate in even approaching you on such a level, but I shall try to explain briefly.
I have written a few Christian stories for children which only one was self-published and became a nightmare for me in spirit and fiancially; I shall never do that ever again. This broke my heart as my story was very good (of course I would think that), but it became nothing more than a pen written on paper and an ear for the publishing company in not hearing. Too much more I need to say, but shan’t.
I only would like for a kind-hearted Christian publishing company to just read my story and see and feel the same way in what I’m trying to convey in showing and telling our young children in experimenting the kindness of another in my storytelling.
So that is why I’m reaching out to you in taking a few minutes out of your busy day in reading my story and giving back to me your feedback as to what I need to continue to do should there be something else that I’m in need to be doing. Just to know for my own peace of mind if my story is worth speaking out.
I humbling thank you for your time spent in reading.
