I wonder how they caught the rhythm
of Brahms’ Hungarian Rhapsody
to so well call out the schism
‘tween musicianship and sanity.
With flailing arms and sawing bow
violinist makes pianist weep,
for that poor bloke just doesn’t know
how on the bench his butt to keep
as the gypsy beat goes on
with every break a dire surprise,
and hope for melody is gone…
you can really see it in his eyes
that he’d not sit, but would instead
wrap bench around the fiddler’s head.
😄👍
I always wondered how these dear ones, who can play so magnificently handle the boredom of the hours and hours of practice!!! Now we see!!!
Hallelujah!!!
And they are really good!!!
That reminds me of Victor Borge. Thanks for sharing. It was delightful!
How fun! And as a bonus, now I know what piece was being played for the intro of the BBC Sherlock Holmes series with Jeremy Brett. Thanks!
It’s amazing poor pianists ever accompany soloists. Such talent…and strength!
