A delightful book-centric video for you today! (Someone had waaaay too much time on their hands.)
It was 44 years ago today that my wife and I were married. Happy Anniversary! Hope you enjoy today’s video as an homage to our many trips to a bookstore together.

As long days grind in agony
I think of Heaven, more and more,
and one image that pleases me
is that it is God’s great bookstore
with miles and miles of blessings shelved
along which we’re enjoined to browse,
each book a joy in which God delved
that now each wond’ring saint allows
a glimpse into that happy Heart
that would not leave us to dark fate
but played His sacrificial part
that key could turn in iron gate
to swing it open, let us in
as children ever freed from sin.
What joy to consider God’s library and an eternity to read it!
OK, Andrew,
I enjoyed the bookkstore. Your poem was truly a fitting bookend.
Gordon, thank you so much!
I have always loved books from the time I was a little girl. My sons and I had a book selling
business for many years. We searched for all over the mid-Atlantic region for books to sell.
Now I can request any book I want to read from the Book Mobile that comes once a month
to the place where I now live. My favorite book is my Bible.
Happy Anniversary to you both! May God bless you with another 44! Thank you Steve for sharing this delightful video. There is a reason why words speak so loudly to our hearts..
Fun video, thanks! Can you imagine being the guy whose job it was to move the books for each stillframe?! Or maybe AI is capable of something like that… Pretty cool, either way!
Happy 44th anniversary, Steve! Thanks for providing these fun videos each Friday. We look forward to them.
Happy Anniversary! I’ve always been intrigued by book stores. As a child, I was in awe of the full shelves and wondered where they came from. Ha! Now I know, and I’m still intrigued by the multitude of subjects, themes, and plots, as well as all that goes into publishing. Have a blessed weekend!
Happy Anniversary Steve and Lisa.
Happy Anniversary! What a cool video. I loved it. Thanks for sharing!
My husband and I just moved into the home I picked out when I was 18, which was my parents’ old place. I’m now 63! My sweet mama kept every essay, child’s drawing, paycheck stub, cancelled checks, and appliance books from 1962! We had a LOT of cleaning to do, and this video gave me shivers at all the work that went into cleaning off those shelves and organizing over and over and over!
I need a nap now!
Happiest Anniversary, Steve and Lisa!
Absolutely!!!
I have always known books are alive!!!!!
That is why they are so lovable!!!!
What does it say about those of us who watched the whole thing? I guess we have too much time on our hands, as well! Happy anniversary, Steve!
When the readers are away, the books will play! Somebody had WAY too much time on their hands — or an entire army of video geeks.
Happy Anniversary Steve and Mrs.
Wow!! That video took some time and work! It was a great delight to watch (more than once!).
Happy Anniversary, and many more!
God bless you both, and all your family, too.
