A tender animated short film (4 minutes). Watch it all the way through. You’ll be glad you did.
This short film, by film student Jacob Frey, just finished a circuit of 180 film festivals where it won 50 different awards. Now that you’ve watched the film you can see the short web-comic it was based on. (click here)

Sadly, the film did not work for me. A note showed up saying it was unavailable due to a copyright claim.

It worked for me and it was beautiful. Very impressed by the nuance in the boy’s face. I better not show my sons or they’ll start begging me for a puppy! Thank you for sharing this Steve.

Steve,
It interested me that in showing us “words people,” that clip, you communicated so much without words. I’m thinking it’s somewhat equivalent to giving the “Show, don’t tell,” advice about writing, given in a completely different way. To motivate someone to read, understand, and like what we write, we need to be able to make them “see” what’s happening, without having to be aware that their seeing is being done with words. Tall order! Thought-provoking clip. Thanks.

No matter what makes us think we can’t, we can. Just move.
