Don’t Write the Book Without the Blueprint
Good things come to those who wait,
but waiting’s not for me,
and so it’s time to change my state
in the baptistery.
I know that you want to take
your photos of the great event,
but hang it all, it’s time to make
mincemeat out of sentiment
and take that deep dive into grace
before all the astonished eyes,
then shake the water from my face
as I grinning waving rise
from my past, my arms raised high,
as my bright new life comes nigh.

Oh my–don’t we all remember that glorious day when Lord Christ Jesus entered our lives through profession of faith. Perhaps He was there all along. For each of us has the breath of God within us when we are born. As He blew in Adam’s nostrils so does He with each living human being. As written in John 1:1, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Amen.
