Microphones, I’ll tell you now
(and this is on the level)
can be examples of just how
things are sent us by the devil.
They may squeak or they may hiss,
or just cut off, making things tense,
but you can bet they’ll never miss
the slightest hint of flatulence,
which will be broadcast far and wide,
a speaker’s worst disaster,
for there is not a place to hide
as silence follows after
leading to consideration
of a Trappist monk’s vocation.

True story–in spite of (or maybe because of) the famous dentist sketch, I actually had a dentist by the name of Tim Conway, and he gives lectures to students at dental school (after showing the original sketch).
