Buddy Greene proves that with enough practice you can play at Carnegie Hall! Sheer brilliance on an unappreciated instrument. It’s great that Bill Gaither showpieced this virtuoso.
Hope it inspires you!

Thanks for sharing that. That was brilliant.
Wow!
It’s not the instrument, but the one playing it. Acts 4:13 says, “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” Anyone, even writers, can share the gospel when Jesus is the one who gives them power.
Amazing!i love harmonica music whether it’s Grandpa playing or a jazzman or classical musician. Thanks! 😊😎
As an addendum to my previous reply: You may be good at your craft, but without Jesus you’re just playing Dixie.
Oh my goodness, that just BLEW ME AWAY! I’ve never heard the harmonica played like that before!
Am I the only one crying here?
No, Terri, I’ve got tears as well. Blessings.
No, you’re not, Terri. So am I!
That skill took perseverance and lots of time to perfect. Fantastic!
I’m in my third year as a chromatic harmonica player, so I appreciate Buddy Greene’s playing on the diatonic harmonica. Did anyone notice that he did not take the instrument from his mouth to breathe? Unlike other wind instruments, harmonicas are sounded both on the exhale and the inhale. Breath training on this supposedly “simple” instrument takes months to learn.
I chose the chromatic over the diatonic harmonica because the chromatic is often called the “pocket piano.” If I live long enough, I’ll be able to play music in any key on my Hohner chromatic.
Hooray for Buddy Greene and others like him!
Thank you for posting this!
Reminded me of a fine novel. Just when you thought the end is coming, it keeps going and gets better than you thought possible.
Absolutely amazing and completely delightful. Doesn’t he need to breathe?
Oh my goodness! Amazing! What a blessing
What fun! Thanks for sharing!
What a good feeling it leaves you with.
Beyond outstanding!!!
Hallelujah!!!
If I learn to write half as well as Buddy plays, I will be content. What a joy!
I saw Buddy in person at Washington, D.C. in 2018 while on a tour led by a Mount Hermon group. Buddy played his harmonica after a dinner at the hotel. He was magnificent! So inspiring. Such a genius musician. God has greatly gifted him. I came home to AZ after that tour and ordered his CD’s. So worth listening to. His concert that evening was the highlight of my trip to Washington D.C. God’s gifts are always the highlight of anything. Did you know Buddy wrote the music (not the words) to, “Mary Did You Know …”
