This is why high fevers and rhyme don’t mix…
I know that success is near,
and that wealth is coming soon;
my future is so very clear,
pizza brought me by balloon.
Now, why this awful metaphor
(meant awesome, oh, dear, silly me!)?
It’s because it stands before,
in prominence, mere similie,
and like a statue made of stone
(Carrara marble, yes, imported)
a metaphor can stand alone,
while similie must be supported
as a clumsy knock-kneed tyke
by a condescending ‘like’.
Move over, Domino’s! 🙂
Imo’s pizza wouldn’t drag–it would soar! LOL!
I’m sure the gravel adds extra flavor.
