Dear Les, I do not know how to dance,
but why can’t don’t be the contraction?
Its not like I would loose a chance,
alot of alotted romantic action
doesn’t lay in the lie of the land
that should of been on the dancing floor;
gals like you, they’re way too understand
(oops, the -ing to end went out the door),
but anyhow (or any ways?)
terpsichorian skill don’t matter
(I’d say ‘do not’ to earn your praise,
but my metered rhyme would shatter),
but for less quarrels I must confess,
that I really could care, Les.
First line I looked, and then beheld
what I on posting, didn’t see,
what should of been the Might of ‘gelled’
thought that don’t applies to me!

I have a headache.
We know better. But then we forget; or we get into a hurry.
It’s always good to be reminded.
Just when I start to feel confident about my Grammar Nazi badge, I stumble upon numbers 14 and 16. I covertly slip my badge in my desk drawer and pull my manuscript out for yet another edit. Darn you Steve Laube!
Since my native tongue is Brooklynese, I had to learn all this stuff like a foreign language. Thank God for editors!
