Now, I should be confessing
this doesn’t come from me;
it is an Irish blessing
that comes through history,
but I must say I like it,
though some find it scary
that it may be a bad fit,
matching Guinness with Mary,
and finding that she’s able
to drink you ‘neath the table.
See y’all on the other side of the New Year, or the other side of eternity, in which case I’m buying.
