We have been working for the last month on an updated look to our entire website, including the blog. It is great to see all it up and running this past weekend. Kudos to the team at AuthorMedia for their hard work!
A number of features have been added or upgraded.
- The site is now completely mobile-friendly across all devices. This is not as easy as it sounds because there are thousands of screen sizes and orientations in the marketplace.
- The fonts are much larger which will be easier to read on all those devices and on your computer monitor.
- The underlying software design should not crash every week like our previous site was doing. Our hope is for a robust site that will last a long time.
- It will be easier to visually see who wrote which post at the top of the article.
- Eventually every one of our 850 posts will be properly classified by topic. Those topics can be found in the black menu bar at the top of the blog post section. It’s not quite ready for prime time yet, but look for this feature in the next few weeks.

For those of your who receive this as an email we apologize for the two that came this past weekend. One of those lovely bugs that we had to squish after the fact.

Steve, it’s way too big. Looks giant with my browser set at 100%. It’s easy to make websites smaller (CTRL -) but I shouldn’t need to do that when other sites look fine.
The site looks great, Steve! It’s not looking too big on my small screen laptop and I’m using Chrome. I mean it all fits the screen although the fonts, etc. are a wee big larger than normal.
It may depend on which browser you use.
I’ve sent in a list of about 25 tweaks and bug squishes. Hopefully many of your concerns will be addressed.

Looks good on my monitor, and I don’t use mobile devices, so it’s fine for me, Steve. It’s fresh and inviting and easy to use. I’m thankful the blog started coming back to my mailbox again last week after a two month absence. Not sure what happened, but I’m glad it’s fixed. 🙂
Pretty big here, but I can adjust. Words are fine. May need to downsize photo. Great job to everyone. You improved, kept the same feel and we still look forward to great content.
I first looked at this on my Smart phone and it was pretty big in terms of font. However, it was much cleaner for mobile usage.
When I went to my computer, I had to downsize the font A LOT, and the letters are still too big (for example, the red box with POST COMMENT is about 3/4″ of an inch in height).
All the same, I love the clean, streamlined look!!

I read it on my computer and it looks good, though the text is a bit pale.
Yes, the font seems quite pale to me as well. I have lousy eye sight–the size is good, but still hard to see, due to font and color. I’m using Firefox, on Windows 8.

Looks beautiful, Steve, in my Chrome browser. Elegant and inviting. I agree that the text looks a little light. I’m changing my site out to Hyatt’s Get Noticed theme. Is this custom or a WordPress theme?
