A blessed Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating it.
“Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
For he satisfies the longing soul,
and the hungry soul he fills with good things.”
(Psalm 107:8-9, ESV)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you, Mr. Laube. I pray God’s blessings on you and your family, today and always.
Andrew Budek-Schmeisser
I’m thankful for metastases
that keep me aching through the night,
though some will say that thanks like these
are proof I’m not too bright,
but I just smile, say it’s okay,
and give a friendly nod,
because dying has become the way
to find the living God,
and I am never more alone
and rest in His embrace.
When agony cuts through each bone,
the veil drops from His face
and the love-shine in His eyes
warms my soul and stills my cries.
Pam Halter
The joy of the Lord is your strength, right, Andrew? Not an easy place to be.
I’m thankful He never leaves us.
I’m thankful He put you here, on this blog, and that I got to know you through your sonnets.
I’m thankful for you (and for me) that this world is temporary.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Andrew Budek-Schmeisser
Pam, this is for you, in gratitude.
Sakura laughs as she dies,
for in the spring she will find
her rebirth.
The kanji script for Sakura consists of two characters; the first can mean either ‘blossom’ or ‘smile’, the second is a modifier that suggests an open mouth. Thus the charm, and the hope of spring.

May God continue to bless you.
This is my first Thanksgiving as a widow… i was blessed with a husband whose attitude and faith mirrored yours.
Andrew Budek-Schmeisser
Lynda, I’m so sorry for your loss, and so honoured by the comparison. I will endeavour to keep walking in the mighty company of such men as your husband.
Sarah E. Hamilton
Thank you so much for sharing Lynda! 🩵
This is my fifth Thanksgiving without my father. I’ve been where you are, and I am so sorry for everything you have survived this year. But God is still good, and he still loves gratitude. I’m so glad your husband had such a beautiful mentality.
If it takes you a little while to share it, that is okay. Gratitude is so important but so very hard when loss is fresh. So be grateful for the little things this Thanksgiving—a clean house, a good book, a pretty view out the window.
God will get you through this. I promise.

Lynda and Sarah, this is for you. I hope it offers some comfort.
You never get a good night’s sleep,
far less a chance to dream,
for as you try to count those sheep,
you wait to hear me scream
and come to do what’er you can
to assuage the pain and fears,
and then use a trembling hand
to wipe away the tears
that God knows that you have shed,
for He collects each one,
and eyes that are now tired, red,
will one day see the Son,
and me, standing by His side,
saying, “This one’s MINE!”, with loving pride.

So thankful to be a CHRISTIAN writer! 1 Thessalonians 2:19 (NKJV)
For what [is] our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? [Is it] not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?

Thank you, Steve, for blessing us today!
