Recently I received several boxes of books from Steve Laube. Inside were dozens of sample books published by our agency clients. Since he is cheap, frugal, thrifty, fantastic for being concerned about the environment, he sent my books in repurposed containers. One was labeled “Reformed Systematic Theology,” scratched through with a black Sharpie pen. Another bore the Harlequin logo familiar to anyone who loves reading romance novels.
I thought about how the boxes illustrate our eclectic agency regarding the projects we represent in Christian publishing.
I am honored to work with Steve, Bob, and Dan. We are all distinct, yet we each want to serve the Lord. Authors and editors know our differing tastes and gifts, and so our client lists demonstrate our unique personalities. Whether a reader seeks a book to offer advice and help from a Christian perspective, or a study on a difficult passage of the Bible, or a volume of Christian theology, or God-honoring entertainment in every genre from romance to science fiction, we have it all. To God be the glory.
And since I am cheap, frugal, thrifty, and strive to practice green living, I plan to repurpose one of the boxes to mail my mother-in-law her Christmas gifts. And I’ll throw in a few God-honoring books for good measure.

The environment: Read Roy McAlister’s THE SOLAR-HYDROGEN ECONOMY. Hydrogen is God’s fuel…it should be ours and is, burned out of coal, gasoline, natural gas, kerosene, etc., and the rest of the compound is exhausted into the air. Ethanol is particularly poisonous, because its exhaust contains formaldehyde. Did you know that?
The medical system: horribly off base, not at all God’s way of healing which is to replace the nutrients the body needs to replace healthy cells. Drugs don’t do that, and kill thousands of people every week…legal drugs! Vitamin-C IV’s & nutrients should be given in every ER, but aren’t (I’ve asked for them!). There would be no chronic Covid or A.I.D.S. or H.I.V. or Ebola patients, but our feckless medical system and corrupt politicians foster a medical system that is ungodly. People are dying from barbaric medical practices. Anyone who thinks that there is anything Christian about it needs to educated himself/herself. I’ve made a study of it for over 60 years with a great deal of bad experience.

Metastasis leaves my leg shattered,
pain has pushed beyond the wall,
but I smile; this doesn’t matter
for I know I have it all.
The day that stands before me
seems so steep and tall,
with exhaustion as my destiny…
so what? I have it all.
My career as a bright novelist…
well, pride goes before the fall!
But in tale’s end there is a twist,
and I’ve always had it all,
and as I see my Earth-life bleed,
Jesus Christ is all I need.

Magnificent. You touched my heart this morning, Andrew. God bless you.

Kay, your words mean the world to me today. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your terse writing…greatest conclusion!

It is wonderful to know how the many parts make a whole. You are a Godly team, and we writers appreciate each of you individually and collectively!

Oh, Andrew! I’m in tears as I read your sonnet again. So powerful! So much how we all should ALWAYS perceive our present situation, but too often do not. We don’t have the prism if pain and suffering that give you such clarity of understanding and expression, but we are enormously blessed by your choice to use your trial the way you do.

Linda, I’m so honoured. Thank you.

Hi, Tamela. I was so blessed by your article this morning. To know that you, and your team, so intentionally praise and honor God in your messages breathes life into my soul. As I go about my work today I am thankful for your heart. Many blessings on your day. Michael

Right backatcha, Tamela. Thanks for the shout out. But by “distinct personality,” did you mean….well, never mind. It’s probably best if I don’t know.

I love it! What a wonderful snapshot of your agency and work with the written word.

Delightful post, Tamela. And I hope your mother-in-law enjoys her repurposed boxes as much as you are!
