The Write to Publish conference for 2024 concluded last Friday and was a wonderful success.
We had over 300 in attendance, making for great opportunities to meet new people and develop what will be lasting connections.
We heard from a variety of key speakers. Brett Harris gave a “Challenge to the Truly Ambitious.” Trillia Newbell had to cancel at the last minute due to pneumonia. Fortunately, I was able to give Wednesday’s keynote and Tricia Goyer gave Thursday’s. Jane Friedman gave three insightful plenary addresses, bringing a unique perspective to the writing life. We had 40 professional faculty who met with authors and presented a combined fifty-seven hours of instruction. We also enjoyed a private concert by Dove Award-winning artist Sandra McCracken.
The Author Conservatory held a preconference event, and nearly 100 of its students attended.
Congratulations to Dan Balow for his expert work as the conference director. Believe it or not, we are already planning for 2025! Hope to see you there.

I wish you all the very best,
success that follows victory,
laurels on which you do not rest,
but climb the higher peaks to see
grace’s landscape out ahead
with the dawn-light just a-borning,
a place where C.S. Lewis said
that every hour will be morning.
Don’t pick up false humility,
but wear it straight and shining proud,
that crown that God made just for you,
and live His joyous life out loud
to show Love as His holy will
in His city on a hill.
Andrew Budek-Schmeisser
Oops. Should have been ‘the crown that God made just for thee’ to preserve the rhyme scheme.
Ah, well. 4am writing!

What a fantastic opportunity to feed into the lives of Kingdom writers and to grow in the craft.
I’ve only heard great things about this year’s Write to Publish. Woohoo!
Congratulations to all who attended and those who made the event possible.

Thank you, Steve, for being one of our keynote speakers. Your talk was brimming over with such inspiring facts that I wish I had a digital copy of it! The many classes I attended left me with a feeling of “I can to this!” They were just what I needed. I enjoyed meeting other authors and left the conference with new friends and encouraging words.
A big thank you to Dan Balow for organizing this event.

I’m so thankful to have been able to attend. Thank you, Dan and Steve, for all you did and all you do to make this conference incredible. And thank you to all the faculty that joined and spoke in to each of our lives. May God bless you all with rest and protection from any attack of the enemy as you return home and get back to “normal” life.

Many thanks to you, Dan Balow, and your team for planning and executing a wonderful writers’ conference.
The keynotes were exceptional, as were all of the workshops I attended. I look forward to listening to the recorded sessions.
Jane Friedman and Becky Robinson were both outstanding!
The icing on the cake was the array of Christian writers from all parts of the U.S. and outside its borders coming together to learn and grow in our craft. The fellowship and encouragement of being with like-minded hearts was inspiring.
Many thanks to Steve Laube, Dan Balow, and the many folks who made this an outstanding event.

I had a fine experience in 2023. Although I was not able to attend this 2024 WTP conference, I appreciate—I rejoice over those who did attend.
Many thanks to all.

I nearly did not attend due to several pressing issues. That would have been a massive mistake. The information received, the conversations and connections made, and the encouragement and direction given will open many doors and forward my experience endlessly. “Thank You” to everyone. Blessings to all.

This conference delivered so much. Thank you to everyone who contributed, especially Dan and Steve. Someone asked me to name my favorite part of the conference and I couldn’t do it. Too many great experiences to choose from. I loved Jane Friedman’s very informative look at the publishing industry. Twila Belk’s encouragement was exactly what I needed. Edie Melson’s class on Social Media as a Ministry truly opened my eyes to all I’ve been missing when it comes to my online presence. I also loved getting to know other writers from all ages and walks of life.
I didn’t get a chance to say hello to you, Steve. You are one popular guy! I know you won’t toot your own horn, but I’ll do it for you. Your talk was inspiring and passionate. I loved it. And, judging by the standing ovation afterward, so did a lot of other folks.
Thanks again for a great conference experience.

Steve, it was my great pleasure to meet you and talk face-to-face at WTP, and to understand how deep and personal your commitment is to bringing all Christian writers “up to snuff.” Those of us who attended WTP were blessed by the fruitful serendipity of your efforts.
Your keynote was inspiring because it was from your heart as well as your well-considered professional perspective. I hope it will be part of the audio feeds, because I would like my pastor and my prayer team to hear it.
Thank you for the CWI, the WTP, and for your abiding faith in Christian publishing.

WTP 2024 was one of the best conferences I have ever attended. It was the perfect balance between formal and informal training. The schedule included time to learn and time to process what we learned, time to listen and time to talk with others. The writing professionals you gathered were top notch and so helpful. It was a joy to be a part of WTP 2024. Thank you to everyone who made the conference possible. Well done!

What a privilege to be able to attend the Write to Publish conference this year.
So much I can say…it was all amazing.
I am already looking forward to next year.
God was all over the week.
I loved touring the Wade Center and the Billy Graham Museum.
Seeing the desk of CS Lewis and the wardrobe…what a thrill.
I spent some time in Aslan’s garden as well.
Lovely week with like-minded souls. I’m so grateful.
