Have you ever been frustrated while looking for an agent or editor? In today’s episode, I talk about where to find good editors and agents using the Christian Writers Market Guide.
Why are agents and editors so hard to find for many authors? It’s because many authors:
- don’t know where to start.
- don’t know who to call.
- don’t know who to trust.
The cool thing about the market guide is that it not only gives you the contact info for agents and editors, it also gives you tips on how to successfully pitch them. These tips are often written by the agents themselves.
I don’t want to bury the lead here, the online version of the market guide is now only $9.99 a year. It used to be $5.99 a month.

The Christian Writers Market Guide
is really something special,
so for agent-finding, this I tried:
an arcane obscure ritual.
I placed a candle on the cover,
trying my wife’s patience,
and on reflection lit another
while shouting incantations.
“Brillig and the slithy toves,
hidey-ho and hodey-hee,
book of magic, do your job,
and fly an agent here to me!”
You should make it out of fireproof stuff,
for it flamed as God said, “That’s ENOUGH!”

Thomas, I just pulled up your podcast from August, about the censorship of Christian websites. I have been using Wix because it’s easier than WordPress for this low-tech writer. I’ve noticed, however, that some of my blog posts disappear from Facebook after a short while. What is your opinion of Wix? I realize it’s probably not their fault, but still I’m curious what I should do.
Thomas Umstattd Jr.
Your posts disappearing from Facebook is not a Wix issue but rather a Facebook issue.

Thank you.
