I suppose there are a couple of ways to find a metaphor in this video.
- Some authors respond to their editor with forceful compliance.
- Good clients do what they are asked to do. But they can be vocal about it.

It’s definitely a writer figuring out how to describe the sound his character makes when she’s stressed out. Either that, or just trying to overcome writer’s block.
A writer realizing he just deleted the best draft of his WIP?
Ooooo… done that! Took a computer genius to find those “nothing is ever really gone” to find it… now I follow the “save often, save deep” guidance!
Oh I lost 50k words. The ‘Apple genius told me the second draft would be better! Need someone to tell me if it is!!

They may also not come up with exactly what the agent is looking for, but they’re working on it with gusto.

Hang tough on the slush pile! We all know agents are busy people, but I don’t think any of us really understand the pile of submissions you get.
Example of a writer going through the first edits on their manuscript. Some are accepted, some rejected, some astonishment, some feelings of overjoy at the suggestions, etc., etc., etc.

Oh dear. I just sent you my unsolicited proposal about two weeks ago. I certainly hope my beloved manuscript was not the inspiration for that triple ugh. I will cling to the hope that my YA work of fiction that I sent you is counted as a member of the interesting group but if not, I beg you Steve to please not return to me a pile of ashes in an envelope. LOL

Steve, I thought my kids would love this video, but since watching it, my four year old has spent the morning moping around the house complaining about how he can’t whistle as well as a walrus. Sometimes parenting backfires!
