Fun Fridays – July 1, 2022
Roll on the picnics for the Fourth,
see fireworks on the edge of town.
Let’s celebrate our nation’s birth
and not let those who’d tear it down
make us hide, each to his home,
voice subdued and eyes downcast.
This is not doomed ancient Rome,
but through these trials we’ll only last
by holding onto what is good,
not looking myoped to the wrong.
Excise that rot from our heartwood,
and let the tree grow tall and strong,
that tree which shelters you and me,
the glorious Tree of Liberty.

A dear friend of mine passed away one year ago today. Yes, he was a true Patriot and loved God and Country. July 4 has always had special meaning, but more so as of 2021. May God bless and keep us all in his loving care and may God bless the United States of America.
