Today’s video is a stunning rendition of the song “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
Performed for the National American Choral Directors Association Conference two weeks ago, it features a group of high school singers and an amazing director.
The audience is filled with choral directors who cheer when something extraordinary is heard. The arrangement is sheer genius, and the performance is beyond words, as the two-minute standing ovation attests.
Turn up the volume and let the sound wash over you.

It may seem that a writer’s duty
is so very crystal clear:
it’s to strive in words for beauty
that we have just heard here.
But what of those with much to say,
but possessed of carthorse style?
Can they ever find a way
to make it feel worthwhile?
I think perhaps we might compare
the gift of daily bread,
of haute cuisine and simple fare,
and find there’s no ‘instead’,
for both, to all men, have a place
in the offering of dinner-grace.
Beautiful!
Fabulous!
Excellence and spiritual beauty displayed.
Wow. I had tears running down my face listening to that.
Me too. I was unprepared for SUCH beauty.
When I was in High School, our choir was the only group chosen from Minnesota to sing at the Music Educators Convention in Detroit. That was over 55 years ago. I thought we were pretty good and so did the other educators. Compared to this group, this director, and this arrangement, there is no comparison. I had goose bumps during their entire performance. Thank you for sharing this video. They were simply amazing!
SO much nicer than editing! Thank you for the spiritual reminder.
Wash over me it did indeed. Thank you for posting
Watching the passion of the director, I am not surprised to hear such excellence from her choir.
