This song brought back the one and only time I heard it before. Swing dancing, loudness, strangers, disco ball lights. A one-time occasion. But now I appreciate the song even more. Thanks Steve.
Steve, you have a connoisseur’s ear for great music. I’ve always enjoyed bass solos, even though I played piccolo in my high school and college bands. Thanks for sharing!
This video of Geoff Castellucci made my Friday sing! I segued to his rendition of “Big Bad John” and “Folsom Prison Blues.” I appreciate you mentioning that you sing bass. Whenever I listen to the Gaither Vocal Band, I hold my breath, waiting for the bass.
I’m so happy you discovered Geoff’s music! I’ve enjoyed his work with Voiceplay for a while now; their “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is better than the original recording.
Steve, you clearly appreciate excellent music on a high level. Even though I played piccolo in school and university bands, I’ve always had a soft spot for bass solos. Please keep me updated.
Wow! Who knew Fabian’s lookalike was such a deep base! (I may have dated myself by remembering Fabian…)
He has quite the range too.
I think that was just Steve in his younger days.

I pray my writing harmonizes so well. I accidentally stumbled on this today. The harmony is amazing. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=top+gun+danger+zone+song+by+string+quartet#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:623a0298,vid:00jInI-V94w
