Carol Of The Bells had been a fave,
but feelings have finiteness,
’cause long ago mosquito gave
malaria with tinnitus,
and the parasite still boils within
and sometimes stops to say
Hello, and then begins to sing
all live-long night and day.
At 5am it’s concert-time,
the bells sound as I write;
although the choir was quite sublime,
my only thought this night
is, ‘Tell me, Lord, oh pretty please,
why’d you make Mr. Anopheles?’
