Sometimes you can take a writing idea and approach it from a different direction, discovering something completely new, yet still familiar.
Apply this idea to music. Listen to see how your favorite Christmas carols sound when put in a different key.

I want to live in major keys,
days of brightness and of frolic,
but life can force me to my knees
to contemplate the melancholic
steps He took upon the road
that led uphill to Calvary,
the bitter Cross His scarring load,
His blood-ransom paid for me.
The awful die His Father cast,
the fearsome pact that Jesus made,
the steadfast courage to the last,
and three days in the tomb’s dank shade…
from major to a minor key,
that I could taste Eternity.
Wow! This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing this, Andrew.
Thank YOU, Amanda!
This reminds me of what happens when you experiment telling a story from different points of view.
Thank you, Andrew, for sharing the beautiful words in your heart. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas!
Great pick, Steve, as usual.
Good poem, Andrew, as usual.
My talented wife used to play Christmas hymn prelude medleys and moved back and forth from major to minor keys. In the days before she could record it for social media. 😕
I love major key… but the talent is surely commendable!!!
Amazing!
Thank you!
Wow! What a difference. The major key is cheerful while the minor key is…..not.
Merry Christmas!
