Ah, the good old days of in-person writers conferences. Where writers gather around their favorite teacher to share in the experience of learning together.
Today’s video is a metaphor of those good ol’ days.
Not that any of you are of the simian variety. (!!!!)

Thank you so much for your newsletter. It’s like a nice pat on the back to keep moving and don’t give up. God bless you for your kindness.

This reminds me of visiting my son’s 7th grade classroom to give a presentation. Ha! I was used to seeing his friends at our house, where they really are trying to behave. In school, their goals were clearly different. Pray for your kids’ teachers folks. They must have angelic levels of patience and wisdom to survive!

Reminds me of being stationed in Lopburi, Thailand during the Vietnam war. Monkeys were everywhere, especially in the old city ruins.

Ha! What a beautiful portrayal of what it looks like when we try to focus on our art. If we aren’t careful, the distractions will win.

Thank you very much for this wonderful video of Paul Barton and his relationship with his daughter and interaction with macaques and elephants. This video displays how the gift of music to mankind is not limited to man alone, but is the universal language that can be appreciated by man and all forms of life. Thank you for sharing this with us.

At the 2:20 (or so) minute mark, one senior monkey chases all the others off. Wondering if that was Paul’s agent, saying, “Enough freebies!”
And yes, it does evoke the pictures of students dawning over the pearls of wisdom dispensed by those we hold in esteem. I wonder, Steve, if anyone has attempted to sit on your head in order to pay more rapt attention??

Thank you for this video! It reminded me of the monkey on my back, that book I left off on prior to Christmas that is nagging me! IF he can play with the monkeys on his back so can I get that done along with all my monkey work around me!
Sheri Dean Parmelee, Ph.D.
Boy, I hope those monkeys are potty trained….. Just sayin’
Susan Sage
That was hilarious…and he even received a head massage and cleaning!!! LOL!!!

Steve, are you saying this is how you feel at writers’ conferences as attendees try to get your attention as an agent? 😎
