Beautiful!!! I so love this. Makes me think of when I interviewed our local public school Special Ed Director as I’m working on a character in a wheelchair (who is very rowdy and always getting into trouble) for a middle grade manuscript. Well, this guy worked at a summer camp that made camp happen for you, no matter what your physical struggle. He even strapped wheelchairs to the top of sea kayaks and went on multi-day kayaking trips, had kids paralyzed from the waist down who wanted to go off the diving board or go horseback riding. Such a great resource for a character who doesn’t see the limits that most people do. He said that if a kid wanted a certain camp experience, they made it happen, end of story. Amazing!
