Today is a fun day to celebrate that special someone in your life.
My wife and I have been married for over 40 years now, and the video below is a tribute to her. No, she knows I do not and cannot dance; but videos like this make me feel like I can.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Go-make someone-you-love-smile day.

As Valentine’s gift this year
I pondered what to give my wife
that would show affection clear,
so I made Barb a custom knife,
Arkansas Toothpick, classic blade,
hefty, yes, might cut a log,
but God set me into the shade
and sent along a small stray dog,
about four pounds, with hazel eyes,
heart winning mien and whiskered face,
a Valentine’s surprise
dancing upon four paws of grace,
to add a joy so fresh and new
to our unruly canine crew.
Her name is Hazel, and she’s already won over the hearts of our ruffians, especially that of mostly-wolf Belle.

Dancing videos cause my heart to dance along… and my spirit to soar

LOL! I turned 65 yesterday. The last lines of the song fit me much better the first. Thanks for the humor to start this day.

Cindy, for you.
And so you have turned sixty-five
yesterday, the day that was,
and now it is your time to thrive
and reach the highest heights because
you’ve seen just what the world can do,
you’ve seen the best and mourned the worst;
you know that which we all go through,
and know, at end, we are not cursed,
but blessed to see reality,
and blessed that we may have a hand
to point out the victory
that we hope others understand,
in walking steadfast through our days
to dance for God, and offer praise.

Andrew, Wow! What a surprise and I thank you. Your poetry has touched my heart so many times. Today, you have shown honor and many of the lines you wrote touched a personal note of where I am today. Thank you again!
Praying for you and your journey!

God’s Editing of Writers
This is not easy, Lord, and I ask You to help me when the writing is tough. Then I ask again, and again, and again when waning enthusiasm is never enough
I guess a lot depends on how much editing and polishing I allow You to make me shine, or how badly I want to keep my grime.
Delete in Your processing my excess word or unkind line,
and those things that contradict Your definition of me being your child.
Take my will and make it Thine to create days of beauty, prose, or rhyme.
(Wrote it today, to my heavenly Valentine.)

Valentine’s Day is also m birthday. I’ve been sending cards and gifts to friends and family since high school.
Imagine my delight when I read LOTR and learned Hobbits give gifts to others on their own birthday! I said, I’ve been doing that for years! hahaha!
And this year, I hosted a wine glass painting party to celebrate. There were 16 friends there. We had so much fun! It blessed me more than I can say to be able to do that for them.
So year, Valentine’s Day is all about love … not just romance. It’s my favorite holiday.

Goodness … look at the spelling errors! Clearly, I need more coffee. haha!

Thanks for two things: (1) the cool ‘giving’ spirit of care, and (2) the humanity of spelling errors! We’ve all been there!

I guess a lot depends on how much editing and polishing I allow You to make me shine, or how badly I want to keep my grime…and my yet unfinished rough draft.
