Heavenly Father,
you make everything beautiful in your time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
I submit to your timing.
I await your timing.
I desire what you will,
as you will,
when you will.
That goes for my writing, too.
I long to touch lives with my words … in your time.
I want to write passionately, effectively, impactfully … in your time.
I yearn to think and communicate clearly and sharply … in your time.
I pray to craft artful, beautiful words, sentences, and passages … in your time.
I ask for publication, for contracts, for endorsements, for readers, and for life-changing influence … in your time,
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Terri
The daily prayer of my heart. I read it out loud, it brought peace and comfort to my heart.
Bob Hostetler
Lord, hear our prayer…right?
Connie Cousins
Any writer will relate to this. It is difficult to wait for His time. A beautiful post.
Bob Hostetler
For me, waiting gets a bit easier as the actual writing happens.
Len
Nice! (and timely . . .)
Bob Hostetler
Timely. Ohhhhh.
Jessica Hurlbut
Love this. Thank you Bob!

Thank you for these beautiful words. They encourage my soul in a godward direction.

Sad we have to learn this the hard way. But it is the best way!

“In His time.” The hardest truth for me to obey. I’m way too impatient. I’m a get-up and get-moving person. You remind me that God’s perfect work happens in the fullness of His time.
I just embarked on a study of Ecclesiastes. I know many such nuggets of wisdom are waiting for me.

This ministered so much to me today. I finished writing my first book The 828 Journey and had it edited. Next, I prepared the book proposal for submission but wanted to have it edited as well only to have my editor very sick for a few months. Next, I had to get a new website designer. My excitement for getting the book published was met with frustration because of these obstacles. In prayer, I heard the voice of the Holy Spirt speak to me, “HALT!” And halt is what I did. Peace and order followed. Almost there, but will certainly be praying this prayer and printing it for my daily quiet time. Thank you so much Bob for sharing. Blessings to you.

An important prayer for me this morning! Yes, I am writing a whole bunch of children’s book manuscripts and waiting and waiting … but this morning my task is to blog for the camp where we work. That is my calling. To somehow communicate the power and beauty of last week’s teen camp to the parents at home and the family of those wonderful campers. To distill the camp experience into a few hundred words and to share with those who weren’t able to zoom around the woods with us and sing praises in the outdoor amphitheater. Not flashy, not something that fuels my pride, but this blog is perhaps the greatest writing call of my life, it is ministry and I need His strengthening hand to write with skill to accomplish it.

Amen! Thank you for this important prayer.

God’s timing is impeccable. Thank you for this timely prayer in my inbox, and for the reminder that God is in control of the “when.” I appreciated your messages at KCWC, as always. I appreciate your ministry.

Thank you for putting these longings into words with prayerful perspective. I created a Canva graphic around your prayer, which now occupies the wall space that rivets my computer-weary eyes when I need to renew my focus.
Jennifer Saake
Amen!
Father, your will be done!

This feels like an expanded version of a prayer a friend recently shared with me , “It’s all You; It’s all Yours.”

Such a timely word. God’s plans are perfect and I want to be in the center of His will not forcing my own way in the wilderness. Thank you.
