The Christmas season is a lovely time to bless and remember our blog community and to let you know how much your thoughtful comments have brought insight and pleasure over the years. Thank you for being part of our community.
I pray that as we move through Advent that you and your loved ones are blessed as we all await in glorious anticipation to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I pray that the stillness of Christmas Eve brings you peace and a sense of wonder. I pray you and yours will enjoy a most wonderful Christmas Day celebration together and increased joy throughout Epiphany and beyond. May you thrive in 2025 as you follow the Lord’s plan for your life. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.

I pray that on this Christmas night
the Lord of Hosts kicks down your door,
puts all doubt and fear to flight
and waltzes you across the floor,
laughing as the angels play
the rhythm in a pick-up band
as you marvel at the way
St. Cecilia works the baby grand
that you didn’t know you own
(“Gotcha!” shouts the Lord with glee)
as Cupertino Joe’ll atone
for knocking down the Christmas tree
’cause every Catholic knows it’s true
he’s saint to klutzes (pilots, too!).
There are a lot of musical Payton saints; Cecilia is the most prominent. And, yes, Joseph of Cupertino (the town in Italy, not the birthplace of Apple) is the patron saint of both klutzes and pilots, a fact which might give one pause.
