Christmas Eve – 2021
You work, so diligent and hard
right ’round the racing calendar,
so drag a lawn chair to the yard
and have some good mates meet you there
with beer on ice and sizzle-steaks,
and tales of laughter and of weird
that document client mistakes
that make you scratch your growing beard.
Doze thee off beneath the sun
with your John Deere cap a-shade
so your colour won’t become
much redder than what God hath made;
take the time and kick back here
and we’ll look for you next year.
Enjoy your break! You all deserve the rest and I look forward to learning more from you next year.
