I have a lot to do today,
my schedule’s bound and closed,
but I don’t face it with dismay,
for all is self-imposed.
I can no longer work outside,
for illness has put paid to that,
and I know worse will betide
to knock each small ambition flat,
so I must do the things I can
and organize them very well,
because it’s now the only plan
between me and the living hell
of losing all desire and will,
watching TV on fentanyl.
Whoa! I’ll pass on driving that road! (Perhaps that was a poor choice of words. I wouldn’t even attempt to pass on that street!)
Only on Monday?
