I have lived in Phoenix for 50 years. Winter has beautiful weather and brings visitors from the frozen north. But, as this weatherman discovered, sometimes it can get a little toasty in the desert. His reaction is priceless.

Owning hell and ‘Zona would be great
(goes the joke we all know well).
I’d rent out the Grand Canyon State
and choose to live in hell,
free of jumping cholla
(no cactus could be meaner)
and summers that will boil ya
like a luau javelina.
But then, I’d miss the castled clouds
and their distant thunder,
the rain that falls in steel-blue shrouds
behind which awe and wonder
can conjure up that magic land
where my soul will take its stand.

My incredible life we were a musical family. A memoir.
Anything below 70 is winter. I love my warm weather. 😎
There’s a reason I live in Texas, namely warm temps even in Winter. This past weekend I’m convinced the North’s weather got drunk and lost its way down South here. So excuse me, anyone living up North, can you kindly come get your wayward weather???
Thanks,
Linda
Trust me, our weather is NOT lost. It’s getting down to -6 something in my area tonight. I refuse to adopt any more snow or hypothermia temperatures, thank you very much.
😂
How did he do that with a straight face? How hysterical. We just got 8 inches of snow covered with two inches of sleet. VDOT plowed me in twice. No mail for a week and it’s supposed to snow again this afternoon, here in central Virginia. Cue spooky music. Welcome to the Twilight Zone. Is it spring yet?
Those awful temps were what I thought it was like in Houston a couple of summers ago when we lost our power for almost a week. I never fully recovered from that, and now I can’t stand any heat. At the moment, I’m loving our weather here with the freezing temps. Sorry Linda Lee, but you can have Texas. I can’t wait to get out. I want to live in Minnesota.
The job the weatherman did of keeping his “cool” in the broadcast was great. Hallmark should sign him up for some of their movies. I’d say he’s a great actor.
LOL. Thank you, I’ll take all the hot temps. Having been raised in Rochester, NY, I know what winter is like and I hereby bequeath my allocable portion to you… now. No need to wait til I croak!
