As you walk in through the door
on your little trembling feet,
the looks you get say, “Here comes more
fresh and juicy Newbie Meat!”
They circle ’round like beasts of prey
who haven’t eaten for a year,
but they won’t mention it, that they
were in your squeaky shoes last year,
and made the same mistakes that you
will soon be counting ‘gainst your pride,
and the last thing you should do
is try so very hard to hide
the tyro’s place in which you sit;
accept, embrace, and thus, own it.
Though I am too old to worry about lions and tigers and bears, I remember the feeling and know if a timid kid like me could get over it, anyone can. RELAX, whispers His Spirit, listen and learn.

Nailed it, Andrew! haha!
I was worried about you the last week or so because you haven’t posted anything lately. Been praying hard! ((hugs))
Thanks, Pam.
The past few weeks have been really rough. Prayers and hugs are most appreciated!
Andrew, that is another winner!
Thanks, Karen!

Love these Friday quips!
I need to change my email address to you. Please advise.
Steve,
This one made me laugh out loud.
Thanks for the memories.
On my first day of my first writers conference, I knew I was on holy ground (Mount Hermon), and I knew I’d found my people!
I relate to that picture. I felt completely out of my element at my first writer’s conference, but I learned a lot so it was worth it.
Oh my goodness. I kind of felt that way in 2024 when I attended my first conference ever.
