The Thrifty Acres store shown in this video after minute 3 is my neighborhood grocery store today! The first Meijer store has been remodeled, but the original arch is on display.
What an interesting background on places we go every week. I remember how ladies used to go to the grocery store all dressed up with hats and gloves. Boy, things have changed.
When I lived in Michigan, I once regretted wearing a red polo sort when I stopped to pick something up at Meijer. Meijer associates wore red polos, and people kept asking me where to find whatever item they were after.
