“1 in 4 students say they would give up sex for a month if they could have all digital textbooks.”
Is it just me, or does that statement seem to have an air of untruth to it? I sure hope there are more than 25% of students who aren’t having sex anyway. I suspect that it is much higher than that. It makes me wonder if the “1 in 4” was the only one out of the four they asked who was actually having sex or if digital textbook approval is really that low. At the very least, the statistic is meaningless.

Ephemera is used to describe paper products from a bygone era by antique collectors. But if paper is ephemeral, digital is even more so. Corrections and changes can be made without traces. Where is the accountability for accuracy with digital? I am a true skeptic as to the benefit of having all one’s learning in an ephemeral form. Abstractions and ephemera are all right in their place, but there needs to be a concrete foundation somewhere.
