Home Row: Just Keep Writing with J.A. Medders

Writers write. Right? Get inspired to write from some of today’s best writers. Listen. Learn. Just keep writing. You might learn how to get a book deal, write a best-seller, or quit your day job. Maybe you’ll get that nudge you need to sit at your desk, chug your coffee, and write the blog, article, or book you’ve been thinking on for far too long. As Christians, our aim is to write in such a way that Jesus is made much of and the Church is encouraged to follow our risen Lord. That’s why we write and that’s why this podcast exists. Let’s get to work.

Or maybe you’re an author who’s been doing this for years but you long to see how other writers balance the business side of the writing life. Well, we fill every episode with encouragement, inspiration, and practical advice about the writing craft, business, and calling.

Emily and Myquillyn have been writing online for nearly ten years. The four of us have published a total of seven books, several of them best sellers. We know what it’s like to feel stuck, aimless, and uninspired in our writing. And we want to help you skip the learning curve we’ve had to struggle through. Many thanks, Steve, for taking the time to compile and offer this.

    Here’s one for you…

We live in these, the busy days
with far too many worthwhile choices,
and it’s hard to find the ways
to filter Babel of competing voices.
    It feels a flood-tide of a blessing
but can serve to make one weaker
and come out a bit depressing,
but there’s still treasure for the seeker.
Some are called to lend a hand
and curate, with light upon the path
that wanders through a crowded land
    to reach the writer’s Argonath.
These greats unsung hold a holy fire
to step back, and help another higher.

Steve, Bravo and thank you for sharing this info. I listen to the “Novel Marketing” and “Christian Publishing Show” podcasts regularly and I’m always looking for similar ones. And it’s a great idea to include a chapter on podcasts in “The Christian Writers Market Guide.”

May I use this as a segue to let all your viewers know that I am featuring an article on “The Christian Writers Market Guide” and an interview with (drum roll) Steve Laube on my blog at tomorrow, July 9? I hope they will all drop by to comment. I’m sure the podcast info will come up.

    Thank you again!
