Anyone who reads blogs notices that many posts don’t generate comments. A lack of responses doesn’t mean no one is reading the blog post. Most blog posts don’t invite comments. They are intended to inform.
Here, we do our best to be accurate, encouraging, and educational. However, we know opinions differ. In the Christian publishing community, the polite person is reluctant to express disagreement with a blogger unless the matter is so urgent that not to say something seems wrong.
Unfortunately, some people use the relative anonymity of the online universe to hide behind an avatar so they can spew vitriol. I appreciate that none of our regular readers use this blog as a place to vent anger that likely stems from a personal situation rather than publishing. Misplaced anger is a wicked goblin.
I’m grateful our blog posts aren’t political. Because we’re all Christians, our words may contain nuanced theology, but we don’t aspire to make shocking statements meant to generate ire.
As a result of our mission and outlook, I have found my interactions with all of you to be pleasant. Thank you.
One purpose of our blog is to allow authors who may not be able to network with us otherwise to ask questions. We try our best to respond, and we appreciate your inquiries.
You can trust me when I tell you that I am grateful for every “thank you” comment I receive on these posts, even though I usually don’t respond to them. Please know that your encouragement makes me smile. Every. Single. Time.
Andrew Budek-Schmeisser
Thank you so much for being here
through my dread poetic rambles.
Your kind words encolour drear
pallor of life become a shambles,
a place where friends no longer come
in physicality;
they fear I might cough up a lung
(though what a sight to see!).
The knowing that this stalwart place,
and the folk that meet herein
welcome me is such a grace
that I can scarce begin
to enumerate (t’would be at length)
my gratitudes for your gifted strength.
Linda Riggs Mayfield
Andrew, you express our shared thoughts so much better than I could! I also believe that we can always count on Tamela to make the blog readers feel welcome here. You struggle with the loneliness created by your health, I struggle with the loneliness of grief after the loss of my husband. Welcoming those of us who might just need those few words of affirmation or encouragement at that moment always is a gift (as are your sonnets!). I’m so glad you’re enjoying it, too!
Priscilla Bettis
Yes, I often read without commenting. Stevelaube.com posts are encouraging and informative. Thanks!
Ann
Ditto to Priscilla’s comment!
Ron Andrea
Thank you.
Jana Gustafson
I value the information shared on this blog. Thank you for giving, in this way, to others.
Betsy Davies
Thank you! I always read these posts and learn from them. I am writing a Christian Thriller – is that an actual genre? Unabashedly Christian but dangerous situations and hidden histories. Any advice on agents I should consider? I am probably too small time for Steve Laube! Thanks!
Pam Halter
Betsy, Christian Thrillers are absolutely a thing! Look up these authors: Davis Bunn, Mike Dellosso, Tim Shoemaker (he writes MG and YA, but they are excellent thrillers, even for adults!), Merrie Destefano, Frank Peretti, and more. Keep going, girl!
Betsy Davies
Thank you, Pam!
Tamela Hancock Murray
Betsy, our agency is always seeking authors who write in this category. Feel free to submit!

Since I don’t write fiction (I wish I could), I don’t often comment on your posts. But your gracious, humble, and heartfelt words are always a pleasure to read. Thank you for all you do for the Christian writer community.
Julia Fenstermacher
Thank YOU and all the Laube bloggers for creating meaningful, informative and Christ-centered pieces. You always inspire me in one way or another to keep writing and to serve the writing community around me. 💗
Tom
Thank you for being here.
Barbara Curtis
I rarely comment, but I sure do read these blogs! I find them so helpful and encouraging. So–thank you to you and each of the agents.
Angela
I always enjoy and learn from these posts. Thank you for sharing your expertise, Tamela!!

Without this blog, literary agents as a whole would be (to me) intimidating, knowledgeable, conference gurus whose table sign-up sheets I would pass right by. But because of faithfully reading this blog, I know so much more about the industry. I have also gotten to read other writer’s comments and learned from them. (Is it writer’s or writers’s or writers’ ???…still learning) Your blog today reminds me that most importantly I have come to see you all as real people. Real families. Real struggles. Real talent. One of these years I might even have the confidence to sign up for 15 minutes of an agent’s time at a conference because you might just be approachable after all. Thanks for the varied topics and styles that shine through this blog giving us all a glimpse of the creative God we serve.
Sally Valentine
I read your blog every day. Thank you. Always enlightening.
Loretta Eidson
I’m glad you mentioned that most blogs don’t generate many comments, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t reading. This encourages me to continue blogging. I struggle with finding subjects that might be of interest to people. I’ve done a couple of subject series blogs with multiple guest bloggers and wondered how that worked since there were very few comments, if any. Thank you for sharing.
Steve Rush
I read the posts I receive from you and others in the agency. I am thankful for the education, enlightenment and entertainment they deliver. None go unnoticed.
Thank you.
Patricia Souder
Thanks to all of you in the Steve Laube Agency who share insightful as well as fun posts. You bring back memories of personal interaction as well as nods, grins, and chuckles, depending on content. All promote growth and healthy balance.

“Misplaced anger is a wicked goblin.”
That was an excellent, spot on description. These blog posts have been very informative and helpful. From the comments, it is clear that that is true for both aspiring and well seasoned writers.
Thank you for reaching out with your posts to help give us better insights into the world of writing.
Julie Bonderov
Yes! Wonderful line!
Barbara Diggs
I always read this blog, but like others, don’t always comment. I remember an event from way back in 2017. I was at a writer’s conference, and it was the noon meal. Steve Laube sat down next to me. We chatted a bit and I mentioned how much I look forward to Fun Friday’s, especially the one that morning! He had the best surprised look on his face and said, “You read them?” “Oh yes! I always look forward to them, and all the other blogs.” He told me he always wondered if people enjoyed Fun Fridays. I proceeded to mention several ones that really stuck out in my mind. The best part of that noon meal was seeing the huge smile on Steve’s face.
Thank you, Tamela, and everyone else for the helpful information you all give us.
Dalyn Weller
I value this blog so much!
Thank you!

Thank you for being here!

This blog was a genuine delight to read. Like most people, I suppose, I wonder what’s the point of making comments, does anyone read them, does anyone care?
Of course, those are feelings (sometimes referred to as “attacks of the great enemy, the father of lies”), and can never be relied upon as indicators of the truth. The fundamental truth about Christian living as that we are called upon to give, live outwardly, regardless of whether someone expresses appreciation. The Lord even told us to expect worse than that, that we will be persecuted for being Christians. You all at the Steve Laube Agency live that daily, and you may trust that your good words and intentions are not without effect!
About Steve’s Fun Fridays, I only occasionally comment, but always look forward to them. In fact, when Steve announced the transfer of CWI last week, my first thought was, “Oh, I hope that doesn’t mean Fun Fridays will disappear!” Please share with Steve and know that you are a “spring” of goodness. (A spring doesn’t give forth water for the appreciation of it, but because that’s it’s nature, period. Because it is insentient, it can never know how much the animals rely on it, but it keeps on “springing.” That’s you.)
Pam Halter
I read this blog almost everyday. If I can’t get to it one day, I read both posts the next day. What I appreciate most if how concise the posts are. I don’t have loads of time to read, and if someone’s blog post is long, I don’t read it.
We’re told to write tight, right? haha! Say THAT fast 10 times!
Thank you, Tamela!
Troy Thompson
Thank you, Tamela, for working hard on these blogs.

Thank you for your diligence.

For me, Tuesdays are a day less bright
since no S. Laube blog is in sight!
(An Andrew I am not!)
I read and appreciate it each day I do receive it. Because of Andrew I also read others’ comments and enjoy those too. My thanks to you all!
Beth Gooch
Very nice. I don’t always comment, but I do appreciate the helpful posts you all share.

I’ve always appreciated the discussion here and the sincerity with which the Laube Agency responds to all. Thank you!

I don’t always comment, but please know I greatly appreciate all the effort, wisdom, and insight the agents pour into this blog and the writing community. Thank you!

Thank you Tamela! I learn so much from the blogs. God bless you. Blessings.
Jeannie Delahunt
I’ve followed the Steve Laube Agency blogs, since I began writing in earnest. That began during the covid shutdowns. I was looking for a Christian site where I could learn and trust the information as well as the people behind it. I hold a great deal of respect for each and every one of you, and I’m grateful for all the opportunities to learn and hone the craft.
Please–keep writing!!! Jeannie
