Huge topic–ADHD and drug use. We definitely abuse prescription drugs in this country and we do that, in part, because we are too lazy and/or ashamed to learn how to deal with issues we should be dealing with.

But I’m not convinced the French are doing better.

Maybe it looks like they have fewer problems because their expectations are lower to begin with. People who don’t believe that sex before marriage is sinful, for instance, don’t lay shame on their children and don’t need to work to discipline the children (on that issue) and don’t feel any shame over the issue, so…no need to drug the kiddies to make them behave. I think the same could be said for other issues, as well.

Of course I’m generalizing. This is a huge topic. One worth thinking about–but not one that will be answered in the comments section, I’m sure.

“Are e-book Sales declining in Canada?” I’m not sure where the author gets her information from, but she makes it sound like a backwater. Contrary to her information, we can buy Amazon Kindles up here, along with all kinds of other e-readers and tablets. By gosh, we even have colour TV now. But I’m still waiting for indoor plumbing…
