New All-Access Membership to The Christian Writers Institute

We are excited to announce a new, all-access membership option for The Christian Writers Institute! Keep reading to find out more.

_____

In this agency blog, we often encourage you to improve your understanding of the craft and become involved in a writing community.

Authors are often surprised to realize that writing isn’t the solitary “sit and stare at the computer screen 8 hours a day” job that some people might imagine.
In fact, as authors we need each other for community, accountability, and support. And I believe The Christian Writers Institute’s (CWI) new membership program is an incredible opportunity for you.

What does membership cost?

The CWI membership is part training academy, part writers group, and 100% accessible to authors of all experience levels.

More than 100 courses are available right now, but the cost to participate in every course is astronomical (over $5,000). Instead, we are offering access to everything for only $25 a month or $200 per year.

Membership allows you to take any course and listen to any presentation at your own pace with your own devices.

Is the membership for you?

Have you ever gone to a writers conference and are pumped up and excited, but a few days or weeks into the daily grind you’re right back to where you started?

With your CWI membership, you can have a “writers conference at home” with access to experts, an encouraging community, and motivating courses and training 24-7!

What comes with the membership?

When you join the CWI membership, you get access to the full catalog of courses for Christian writers, covering topics like writing craft, book marketing, finding agents, self-publishing, and more. It’s like a massive menu for writer courses from experts like Thomas Umstattd Jr., DiAnn Mills, Susy Flory, Daniel Schwabauer, and James Scott Bell. (Plus we are adding new courses throughout the year, which will be included in your membership at no additional cost.)

In addition to our full-length courses, you’ll get access to our vault of presentations from writers conferences across the country. Hear keynotes and breakout sessions from Christy Award winners, New York Times bestsellers, and pioneers in the Christian publishing industry.

And your membership includes unfettered use of The Christian Writers Market Guide online edition. This usually is an extra cost, but with membership it is included.

If that’s not enough, your CWI membership also comes with live group-trainings from me and from Christian suspense novelist Alana Terry. These ongoing events are where you can meet other like-minded authors, find your next accountability partner, and ask questions from authors who’ve been there, done that. The first of those events is happening this Friday, January 27, at 10 a.m. Pacific / 1 p.m. Eastern. But only members can participate!

Join today, and reap the benefits

If you were to shop for individual courses from The Christian Writers Institute, you’d be paying a hundred dollars or more per course on average. If you were to join one of Alana Terry’s separate book-marketing mastermind groups, it would cost another $300 a month.

Instead, we want to make this offering available to anyone and everyone who’ll benefit from our training and vibrant community, which is why the new Christian Writers Membership is launching at only $25 a month (or $200 a year).

I Am a Writer

My father always resolved never to make New Year’s resolutions. Admirable indeed, although few possess his fortitude! What are your goals for 2023? I remember when I first started writing articles and books for publication. Rejections abounded, and this was at a time of plentiful magazines and regional newspapers publishing unknown authors. Winning a contract from a traditional book publisher has …

A Year in Review: A Look at 2022

When we reflect on a prior year, it can be hard to recall highlights or lowlights. They sort of blend together. The constant barrage of wretched news media fills in the moments of silence and crowds out the goodness of God that should be readily apparent in our everyday lives. My attempt in this article is to focus only on our industry, our agency, and a couple of other good things we have going. …

365 Days to Sing God’s Praise

Happy New Year! Today marks the 250th anniversary of the first performance of “Amazing Grace,” written by pastor John Newton to accompany his sermon. It was originally written as poetry. The familiar melody was added in 1835, though the words were sung to various traditional tunes before that. At the time, Newton was parish priest of the Anglican church in Olney, Buckinghamshire, England. (If you …

Christmas Questions

When Christian singer/songwriters Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene collaborated on the modern Christmas classic “Mary Did You Know?” they hit on some meaningful themes that inspire millions each year. Honestly, I think they were a little presumptuous asking a pregnant lady or mother of a young child so many questions, but at least the song doesn’t wait for her responses! She had enough on her mind. I …
