A great song about books!

Lyrics:

If You Love to Read

There’s a story waiting to be told
Waiting for all of us, whether we’re young or old
The story is in there if you take a look
Go ‘head and and open up, the pages of a book
If you ask me, I will read with you
Don’t underestimate the things that books can do
There’s a story waiting to be told
Waiting for all of us, whether we’re young or old

The stories inside can open your mind
They’ve got me wishing now that I could read them all
The stories inside can take you for a ride
I can’t help feeling

That you can have it all
(I really wish you, you would read to me)
If you love to read
(Pages gonna turn, when you love to read)
The stories there, just turn the page
(I really wish you, you would read to me)
You can find it, in a book
(Pages gonna turn, when you love to read)

Books they have a story they will tell
Comedy, comic, romance, horror,
and poetry as well

When I’m feeling like there’s no place for me
I know I’ll always feel at home
in a library

(I really wish you, you would read to me)
The stories inside can open your mind
(Pages gonna turn, when you love to read)
They’ve got me wishing now that I could read them all
(I really wish you, you would read to me)
The stories inside can take you for a ride
(Pages gonna turn, when you love to read)
I can’t help feeling that

You can have it all
(I really wish you, you would read to me)
If you love to read
(Pages gonna turn, when you love to read)
The stories there, just turn the page
(I really wish you, you would read to me)
You can find it, in a book
(Pages gonna turn, when you love to read)
You can have it all
If you love to read
The stories there, just turn the page
You can find it, in a book

Throw yourself into every open book (woah)
There’s something for everyone if you take a look (woah)
Turn the pages, and then before you know (woah)
Books will pay you back in kind just watch your knowledge grow

(I really wish you, you would read to me)
You can have it all
(Pages gonna turn, when you love to read)
You can have it all
(I really wish you, you would read to me)
It all, it all, it all
(Pages gonna turn, when you love to read)

You can have it all
(I really wish you, you would read to me)
If you love to read
(Pages gonna turn, when you love to read)
The stories there, just turn the page
(I really wish you, you would read to me)
You can find it, in a book
(Pages gonna turn, when you love to read)

You can have it all
(I really wish you, you would read to me)
If you love to read
(Pages gonna turn, when you love to read)
The stories there, just turn the page
(I really wish you, you would read to me)

(Pages gonna turn, when you love to read)

You’ll find it
You’ll find it
You’ll find it
You’ll find it in a book.

It was a Quiet Week

by Steve Laube It was an quiet week in the agenting business. Periodically I like to peel back the curtain on what we do as literary agents because for many it remains a mystery or as a job that is unnecessary. I love my job. I am so very blessed to be able to do something I love and help so many people while doing it. Without further ado, here are a number of things that crossed my path this …

by Steve Laube Today’s Cinco de Mayo celebration should be renamed Cinco de Grande. Last week’s news that HarperCollins is buying Harlequin caused quite a stir in the industry. It had long been wondered if current owner Torstar, a Canadian media company that owns a number of properties, would do something with Harlequin. The primary reason is that each of the past four years has seen a …

My Most Frequently Used Reference Book

by Steve Laube After pulling down this book from my shelf twice this past week I realized there is no other reference book I use more frequently. The book? The Synonym Finder by J.I. Rodale. I prefer it over Roget’s Thesaurus because it is laid out logically – in alphabetical order. There are multiple occasions where I need an alternative word to the one I’m trying to use. So I …

A Forty Day Experiment with Music

by Steve Laube I tried something new this year. During the 40 days prior to Easter, also known as Lent, I chose to listen to one and only one CD while driving in my car. From March 5th to April 20th the only music playing was “Lent at Ephesus,” the #1 bestselling Classical Music album of the year. This means during that period I heard this music at least thirty times from start to …
